The Struggle of a Pre-Nursing Student and Wanna Be Rodeo Kid
Hey Rambling Readers!
Let me start this story off with a little prologue..
I am taking a few classes at the local junior college, one of which being Certified Nursing Assistant class. We in the CNA class have been in class all semester and are just wrapping up with our finals and getting ready to go to clinicals! (Shhh...don't warn the nursing homes). I am also trying to get a few of my rodeo ponies back in shape after a little break.
So continuing the story.
Last night was lab check offs for the CNA group, which means white scrubs, white shoes, stethoscope, name badge, all the gadgets. So I get home from class about 4:00, and need to be back in town by 5:30 (30 minute drive to town, right?). I'm not going to have time to ride so I decide to put my good horse on the hot walker (Which walks them around...and around...and around in circles..(Which seems like what I do half of the time?! Weird.)) and I run inside to don my white scrubs! Whoohoo! I proceed to do that and fix a little dinner and probably waste a little time and then head back out the door to leave for school.
Then I remember my horse is tied to the hot walker.
So I would like you to picture this..I decide to RUN across the yard and through a red fence and out into the pasture to get my horse.
I. Cant. Run.
As I go flying up to her, she thinks I look like the Michelin Man and starts running backwards. Like going to pull the horse walker over and cause a wreck and I'm late already!
But there are a bunch of weeds (A bunch) around the walker and dirt (Its Southeastern Colorado) and I'm all white. In my process of trying to hop over the tumble weeds, run, and not get my white pants dirty I ALMOST fall over. The horse is still pulling back, I'm trying to stand up..Disaster from the start.
But in the long run, I did get the horse put away and to class on time and I even passed my test.
And I didn't even get a speeding ticket until I was on the way home...
Hope the mental picture of my space case night was enough to make you laugh!
